O 14 de setembro de 2013, rematando a celebración da Romaxe en santa Uxía de Lobás, subiron a coller o ramo e a animarnos a participar na Romaxe 2014, Paula e Raquel, de Galegos e Rocío de Abellá-Frades.
Velaquí as súas palabras naquel momento:
“Boas tardes a todos: A nós tócanos informar primeiro do lugar da Romaxe vindeira e como é. Empecemos por situar no mapa o lugar da capela das Virtudes.
Trátase dun lugar moi céntrico a uns 30 quilómetros de Compostela e moi ben comunicado veñamos de onde veñamos.
A Capela das Virtudes coa súa ampla carballeira pertence ao concello de Frades. Frades é un dos concellos da comarca de Ordes no interior da provincia da Coruña, pero iso non se nota para chegar alí. Por un lado pasa a estrada de Santiago cara á nacional VI e por outro á de Lanzá cara a AP9.
Hoxe non toca falar da historia, dos monumentos ou da xente destas terras; descubrirédelo por vós mesmos. Só un detalle: hai uns 35 anos chegaron a estas terras dous mestres, Mini e Mero, dous imprescindibles das romaxes e aínda non marcharon.
Para rematar, temos que dicirvos que vos acolleremos con moito gusto na capela das Virtudes en Vitre o vindeiro ano. Verémonos alí!”.
A capela das Virtudes procede dos albores do 1800 cando D. Blas de la Fuente, voltou despois de moitos anos na emigración e quixo lavar a súa conciencia con boas obras para que a Virxe e os seus veciños de Lanzá o perdoasen.
Dos moitos persoeiros célebres desta contorna salientamos neste primeiro artigo a Luís Porteiro Garea, que naceu en Lugo pero morreu preto de aquí, en Frades. El foi un dos fundadores das Irmandades da Fala. Foi un dos creadores do nacionalismo irmandiño na súa vertente política, pois apostou por superar as reivindicacións puramente lingüísticas e culturais e avanzar cara á creación dunha organización política propia.
Por iso é polo que na Romaxe deste ano chamamos pola Irmande, e farémolo cantando fermosas verbas de Claudio Rodríguez e Baldomero Iglesias:
